Marcelo Cunio Machado Fonseca MD, PhD – Senior Consultant
Specialist in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, has a Master Degree in Health Economics and Management and a PhD in Medicine. He holds extension courses in Marketing and Management by the American Management Association and in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics by the Harvard School of Public Health.
Dr. Fonseca is a Professor in the Medical and Health Technologies School at the Federal University of São Paulo where he teaches courses for undergraduate and graduate students in Health Technology Assessment, Clinical Research and Pediatrics (2005 - present). He was founder, first CEO and member of the Board of Directors of the Clinical Trials Office of Federal University of São Paulo (2005 - 2015).
Currently, he is the general manager of the Federal University of São Paulo HTA office. In the past, he worked in several leading positions in Oncology products (1997 - 2000) and was Business Unit Director responsible for Market Access, Health Economics and Clinical Trials at Hoffmann La Roche Inc (Brazil). He is the current President of the ISPOR Brazilian Chapter and also served ISPOR in various other capacities such as Education Director of the Chapter (2006 – 2014) and member of the ISPOR International Board of Directors (2012 – 2014).
Gabriela Tannus Branco de Araújo MBA, MSc - Senior Consultant
Economist graduated from Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado (FAAP), with an extension course in marketing at Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing (ESPM). She holds an MBA in Health Economics and Healthcare Management at UNIFESP and MA in Health Sciences at UNIFESP. Mrs. Araújo also attended extension courses of Leading Professional Services Firms and Business Innovations in Global Health care delivery at the Harvard Business School
She is the lead Health Economist in charge of the UNIFESP HTA Office and invited professor at UNIFESP. She is also a Member of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) and ISPOR Brazilian Chapter president 2007-2009, vice-president 2009-2012 and, president 2012-2015.
Chair of the board (2012-2014) of the ISPOR Latin America Consortium. Currently she is the vice-president of the ISPOR Brazilian Chapter (2015 – 2018) and on the Executive Committee Board of ISPOR Latin America Consortium.
Helder Yudji Etto, MSc - Research Analist
Biologist graduated from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, Master in Public Health, Faculdade de Saúde Pública – USP, training course in Clinical Research at Invitare Clinical Research. Works in the scientific research area since 2007 and as Consultant at AxiaBio since 2009, working mainly in the development, coordination and protocol monitoring of clinical/pharmacoeconomic studies.
Charles Schmidt, MD, PhD – Associated Consultant
Pediatrician graduated from the School of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo, MA and PhD in Pediatric Infectious Diseases, Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP). For the past 20 years works in the field of clinical trials, as chief executive and clinical director of some of the leading global pharmaceutical companies and clinical research organizations. Currently a professor and graduate program coordinator in clinical research at the School of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo, Brazil. Member, former president and founder of the Brazilian Association of CROs (ABRACRO). Board member and Director of the Association of Pharmaceutical Physicians (SBMF) and member of the Management Committee of DIA Latin America.
Dayan Sansone BSc - Associated Consultant
Degree in Biological Sciences at Universidade de São Paulo (USP) and graduation student in Philosophy also in USP. Currently, Masters student in Epidemiology through UNIFESP’s Gynecology Department. Works in the scientific research area since 2007 and as an Associate Consultant at Axia.Bio since 2012 as analyst in science and clinical protocols. Secretary for ISPOR’s Brazilian Chapter since 2014.
César Luiz Lacerda Abicalaffe – Associated Consultant
Physician graduated in 1986, MA in Health Economics at the University of York – United Kingdom, MBA at Business Management and Strategy at UFPR. CEO of 2iM – IMPACTO Inteligência Médica S/A. Author of the P4P© (2008) e GPS.2iM© (2011) models for the implementation of performance evaluation and pay per performance programs for health insurance plans, hospitals and for SUS. Published several articles on the theme. Worked as AS consultant for QUALISS. Columnist for the Saúde Business website since 2010 about Pay Per Performance. Also acts as guest speaker in several Brazilian and International health institutions.
Daniel Tannus BCJ - Associated Consultant
Journalist graduated from the Faculdade de Comunicação Social Cásper Líbero in 2002. Worked as a reporter in the periodicals “Diário Popular” and “Jornal da Tarde” and as a journalistic producer for "RedeTV" channel. Attended several international courses and conferences in the areas of Pharmacoeconomics and Communication. Associate Consultant at Axia.Bio since 2009.
Ruben Javier Sciuto, MD, PhD - Associated Consultant
Physician graduated from the Universidad de La República (UDELAR). Clinical research consultant for several hospitals (Hospital of the USP, Syrian-Lebanese Hospital of São Paulo) and clinical research organizations, pharmaceutical companies and public universities in Brazil. Previously acted as Professor of Medical Statistics, Department of Quantitative Methods of the School of Medicine of Uruguay for over 8 years, and professor of Biostatistics, School of Agriculture of Uruguay (UDELAR) for 2 years.
Teresa Raquel de Moraes Andrade - Associated Consultant
Degree in Radio Technology from Universidade Federal de São Paulo/UNIFESP, Escola Paulista de Medicina/EPM in 2014. Currently masters student through the post-graduation program from UNIFESP’s Gynecology Department and visiting professor at the Health Technology Assessment and Clinical Research courses at the Faculdade de Tecnologias em Saúde from UNIFESP. Went through the Axia.Bio internship program from 2013 to 2014 and works as Research Analyst since 2015.
